A good lie, there are plenty. mostly a good lie occurs in a somewhat more formal setting. Your boss comes in one morning, wearing a new watch and just has to show it off. He asks you what you think of it and it’s not really your taste. Hell, you might think its atrocious. Obviously it’s a wiser choice to just go along with the classic “Oh it looks fancy, really nice!”. But when your sibling asks you this question, showing you the same watch, you’re more likely to be honest.

To a child of 3 year’s old, goldfish just died, you tell the child it’s asleep and it’s better to let it sleep in the big sea when you flush it down the toilet. But also adults to adults. Look at a funeral, where the speaker is talking about the person that passed away.
