Ayurvedic Yoga and Naturopathy Unani Siddha and Homeopathy/p>

AYUSH stands for Ayurvedic, Yoga and Naturopathy, Unani, Siddha and Homeopathy. It refers to the Department of AYUSH.
Earlier it had been called the Department of Indian System of medicine and Homeopathy (ISM&H).
It had been renamed Department of AYUSH in November 2003 with a view to give more emphasis on the event of Education and Research in Ayurveda, Yoga and Naturopathy, Unani, Siddha and Homeopathy.
In 2003, it had been operating under the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare. Today, it's under the Ministry of AYUSH which was established on 9 November 2014.
It's headquartered in New Delhi. AS of July 2017, Sh. Shripad Yesso Naik is that the Minister of State of AYUSH.

Key Objectives

To improve and upgrade the educational standard of Indian Systems of medicine and Homoeopathy colleges across the country.
To support and strengthen the research institutions for the research on diseases that they need an efficient treatment.
To launch schemes for promotion and cultivation of medicinal plants utilized in these systems of medicine.
To develop pharmacopoeial standards for Indian Systems of medicine and Homeopathy drugs.
